True to the slogan "Precision in Measurement", SIOS has been developing and manufacturing laser interferometric and other precision measuring instruments for calibration and nano metrology for the measurement of length, angle, vibration, straightness, mass, force and other measurands with highest resolution and low measurement uncertainty since 1991.
SIOS is not only one of the leading manufacturers of laser interferometric measurement systems. SIOS is one of the most important European suppliers of stabilized He-Ne lasers as metrological light source with highly stable wavelength. With the nanopositioning and nanometrology machine NMM, we are also the supplier of the world's most accurate positioning system and thus the sole market leader.
For 30 years now, we have been offering high-quality standard sensors, customer-specific product developments as well as individual OEM solutions, e.g. for the fields of research & development, calibration, mechanical engineering, optics and semiconductor industry, medical technology, nanometrology and geoscience.
In the early years of our company's history, the focus was primarily on the requirements of scientific institutions and testing institutes. In the meantime, both areas –science and industry– are equally important for our company.
In the industrial environment, the individual SIOS solutions of customer requirements are particularly appreciated. Users of our measurement technology benefit from the many years of expertise, the high flexibility, the prompt adaptation development as well as the modular design of the SIOS measurement systems.
A strong basis for the development of innovative products has always been the close scientific-technical cooperation with the Technical University of Ilmenau and the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt.
