International Scientific Symposium

Around the world + Online

— International Scientific Symposium on World Interferomety Day

As part of the events surrounding World Interferometry Day, TU Ilmenau organizes a scientific symposium in Ilmenau every year.

The aim of the symposium is to share the enthusiasm for interferometry with other scientists, researchers and metrologists from all over the world. Albert Abraham Michelson's ingenious invention over 140 years ago has become synonymous with high-precision measurement technology. Pushing technology to its limits and constantly challenging it to new heights - that is the credo of modern laser interferometer technology.

You can look forward with us to exciting presentations by renowned speakers such as

  • Dr. Peter de Groot - Zygo/ USA
  • Dr. Andrew Yacoot - National Physical Laboratory NPL/ Great Britain
  • Dr. Jochen Hetzler - Carl Zeiss SMT GmbH
  • Dr. Virpi Korpelainen - National Metrology Institute VTT MIKES/ Finland
  • Dr. Arnold Nicolaus - Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt PTB
  • Dr. Michael Matus - BEV Federal Office of Metrology and Surveying/ Austria
  • Dr. Damien Kelly - Institute for Laser Technologies in Medicine and Metrology at the University of Ulm ILM
  • You can find the current program here: www.world-interferometry-day.com/program-2024

Admission to the lectures is free, but registration is required: www.world-interferometry-day.com/registration

We will be present with an information stand and will be happy to inform you about our laser interferometric measurement technology for high-precision measurement of up to 6 DoF.
