As part of his annual summer tour, CDU member of state parliament Andreas Bühl made a stop at SIOS. The visit, which lasted around an hour, provided a good opportunity for an exchange between politicians and one of the leading companies in the field of precision measurement technology.
Managing Director Dr. Denis Dontsov opened the meeting with a general introduction to SIOS and provided information on the company's development over the past five financial years. He explained how SIOS has been able to secure and further expand its position as an innovation leader in the industry despite global challenges.
“Our success is based on the high level of expertise and innovative strength of our employees,” says Dr. Dontsov. He particularly emphasizes the high proportion of highly qualified all-rounders with a scientific background. “As much as 28% of the workforce works in research and development. This expertise enables us to solve even the most complex measurement tasks for our global customers and expand our technological leadership.”
In conversation with Andreas Bühl, various topics were addressed that are of central importance to SIOS:

Dr. Dontsov was particularly concerned about the perception of the photonics industry in Thuringia: “The focus is often only on Jena, but there are numerous innovative companies in this field throughout Thuringia that need to be supported and promoted.”
The Managing Director also took the opportunity to emphasize the importance of stable political conditions for Thuringia as a business location: “Thuringia's reputation in the world must be strengthened. Political stability is crucial for attracting and retaining investors.”
Andreas Bühl was very interested and impressed by the innovative strength and global success of SIOS. SMEs like SIOS are the backbone of the regional economy. Their experience and concerns are important impulses for political work.
Andreas Bühl's visit showed how essential direct exchange between politics and business is. For SIOS, it provided a valuable platform to present the challenges and needs of a high-tech company in Thuringia and to formulate specific concerns for politicians.
